January 2015

I hope you started the New Year 2015 very well!

Back in November 2014 I was able to share one of the most memorable highlights with the Tohoku Grandmas of Rikuzentakata.
At the premiere of my Bridal Couture Collection 1-5-0 ONE-FIVE-OH which signifies and celebrates the 150th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Japan and Switzerland, I had the chance to enjoy the attendance of Mrs Oikawa and Mrs Kanno at the Swiss residence of Ambassador Urs Bucher in Tokyo.
For this premiere Mrs Oikawa and Mrs Kanno produced my latest designs of Headdresses and Necklaces made of textile flowers.
Our very special guest Her Imperial Majesty Empress Michiko who attended the show and reception was delighted to see my latest collaboration with the women of Rikuzentakata.
Her Majesty is further going to support my projects to rebuild the city of Rikuzentakata through providing jobs.
Mrs Oikawa and Mrs Kanno were thrilled and very honored to talk to Her Majesty and to give one of their hand made pin cushions personally. It was such a touching and moving evening!
I’d like to thank our host Ambassador Urs Bucher who made this event possible. I am also thankful that Bernina International supports my projects faithfully and generously!
